This Friday is our second Shabbat Potluck of the quarter, and it’s going down at our new coordinator, Sarah’s apartment downtown. Her place is located at 410 Franklin Street, across from Dumpster Values. It’s an apartment building, so you’ll have to call to be let in. Sarah’s number is 206-227-4424, and you can also call her for questions about directions or other clarifications. As usual, bring a kosher dish and I’ll see you there.

This Wednesday is the first of a six part lecture series by Rabbi Cheski Edelman on the land of Israel and its spiritual importance to the Jewish people. The lessons will be every Wednesday at the same location, Seminar II, room A2107.

The first lesson is entitled ‘The Promised Land’ and deals with the biblical Jewish inheritance of the land of Israel as home.

This Sunday, we’ll be showing the film ‘Late Marriage’ in Lecture Hall 2. It’s a comedy/drama about an unmarried Jewish man from a strict family who is secretly in love with a divorced woman who already has a kid, despite his parents attempts to get him married according to tradition. There will be popcorn and other snacks.

See ya there.

Come to Hillel’s first Shabbat potluck of the winter quarter. It’s happening this Friday in K207 (the soups). Bring yourself and a kosher food dish. Vegetarian is simple, but if you want to bring meat, don’t mix it with dairy, and obviously no pork or shellfish. See you all there.
